Baluster Pros' Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find some of the most common questions asked by Baluster Pros clients. If your question doesn’t appear below, please feel free to contact us at any time for additional information.

Q. How long would it take for you to begin my home’s baluster replacement project?

A. We immediately order your baluster replacements once you have approved your final estimate. Your new balusters usually arrive in 5 to 7 business days and receive a thorough inspection and then we contact you to schedule a time to install them. We usually schedule our baluster replacement services within two weeks of your final estimate approval. Once at your home, the replacement process generally takes less than a day, but for larger projects of over 90 balusters it may take an additional day.

Q. Will my current railings have to be removed for the baluster replacement?

A. No. The process of removing your old, wooden balusters and replacing them with new, beautiful metal balusters is a simple task. We take old the old and put in the new with ease!

Q. What is the installation process?

A. Once Baluster Pros arrive at your home, our first objective is to carefully remove your old wooden balusters by cutting them into two pieces before we gather and dispose of them. Next, we head outside or in your garage to cut your new metal replacement balusters individually for their specific location on your staircase before they are installed and set with the epoxy. After a careful inspection for quality assurance, we thoroughly vacuum in order to clean up the minimal mess caused by removing your old wood balusters. We pride ourselves in leaving your home in a better—and more beautiful—condition than before we arrived.

Q. Once completed, will my railings still be secure and sturdy?

A. Without a doubt. In fact, your railing will more than likely enjoy increased stability. This increase is caused by the process of using two-part epoxy, which is infused in the bottom and the top holes in which the balusters are placed, to install your new metal balusters in comparison to the nails used to place your old wooden ones.

Q. Does the epoxy you use to install the new metal balusters take a long time to dry?

A. We ask our customers to not disturb their new balusters for 12 hours. However, the epoxy we use is generally dry within a couple of hours.
