Don't Ever Give It Up! Give It Time!

Network Marketing takes time and effort. It's not always a cake
walk and there's no free lunch as they say wouldn't you tend
to agree?
It doesn't happen overnight and you will not get rich in a few short
months. As professionals we have got to stop this insane hype
because it can become detrimental to our profession.
Maybe this happens for a few what it appears to be lucky ones.
You know all those successful people you read about online and
in magazines who say they got a check for a bill-zillion dollars in
a few short months! Then these few make everyone think it's
so easy and that they struck it rich over night. There's usually
a story behind the story of how this happened. I've been in
the industry long enough to know how too. It usually took
those people years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears.
This get rich mentality just isn't the reality of the industry. There can
be however, a lot of hype especially on the Internet. We've got to start
being more realistic and help people to start thinking like real entrepreneurs,
set up their business like a 'real' business, develop real goals, or
they will continue to frustrate themselves and most will quit or move
on to the next best thing that's promising them more pie in the sky.
It took me a lot of years to get to understand what to do and to
learn the business. Developing into a leader has taken time.
Before you can help other people develop, you've got to develop
yourself. I had no business background, no corporate business
background, no degrees, no contacts, and no credibility when I
started. I was a stay at home mom and still am to this day.
Now I call myself a CEO MOM. It's a beautiful thing when you
start to have people coming to you to join your business and
ask your advice.
It's not been easy. I've stumbled and mumbled and made many
mistakes but the one thing is I've never given up. I've been to
the mountain top and down deep in the valley so I know and
understand what it's like to be frustrated and struggling.
Being in business is a constant learning and growing process. I have
gotten paid while learning and developed a six figure income in MLM.
I always realized that I would be underpaid in the beginning and I
now know what the future holds for me as I stay on the course
and continue building a solid foundation to developing a million
dollar year.
I've been able to stay home with my kids and take them and pick
them up from school and taxi them to their activities. I haven't
had to work for someone else in over 20 years.
Ask people who say they quit their jobs in 6 months or a year to do
Network Marketing full time really how many hours did they have to
spend in the beginning to make that kind of money so quickly. More
importantly, what sort of sacrifices did they have to make?
It might be a lot easier for a single guy named Joe ON THE GO with
no wife, no kids, no house or yard to care for, to concentrate 16
to 18 hours a day on their Network Marketing business with no one
to answer to, no kids to take to ball games, no diapers to change,
babies to feed, no dinner to cook, no house to clean, no homework
to help with, no groceries to shop for, no spouse to give attention.
This busy list of life goes on and on especially for women!
We know that women are usually the caretakers and have not
only the responsibility of building a multi-million dollar business
but also the responsibility of caring for our families and sometimes
that may include our own aging parents.
This isn't meant to be an excuse. Everyone's life situation is
different. Many people must start in Network Marketing part-time
because it's necessary for them to work it around their job or
around their full-time life.
Most people have a full time job and many other obligations in
their lives. Even with all this going on anyone can build an
MLM home business if they really take the precious time
they do have and be patient as their business grows forward
in time.
Most of all never never never give up! Because what happens is
you'll eventually develop the leverage which gives you more time
freedom! Remember success always comes with a price tag! What
you have to asked yourself is - am I worth it? Is my family worth it?
Some people will be happy with a part-time income from Network
Marketing. Be realistic about the time frame involved according
to your own particular situation and make sure you are sensitive
to what other people's goals are. They may not be the same as
yours or could in fact, be even bigger.
When you decide that you want to change your career and start your
own business and choose the MLM business model, decide right then and
there that you've got to give it at least 30 months of intentional focus.
Even if it's only ONE hour a day make that one hour count for success!
Just think how long people stay in traditional jobs to retirement?
20, 25, 30 years? Then what do they have? If you do start a
traditional business it will most likely take you at least 2 to 3
years to break even or maybe even longer. My husband and I had
this discussion. He told me how long it would take him to start
making a profit if he were to start his own Land Surveying
business.
He said at least 4 years and he would have to invest $100K
minimum to start a business. And if the economy goes so does his
business. That's a lot more risky than starting a business with a
few hundred dollars. The issue is though that people tend to quit
a lot sooner when they only invest a few hundred dollars vs investing
$100K right?
Success Key - You've got to start seeing your MLM home business as a
multi-million dollar enterprise.
You'd have a tremendous amount of overhead in a traditional
business, depending on what sort of business you start. Start up
cost are typically much higher than in starting an MLM home business.
In traditional business you still have to develop an action plan, work hard,
give it daily consistent effort, network with lots of people, focus and
commit, be organized, manage your time wisely and have a real desire to
succeed. All the same things we do in our MLM home business right?
Find what other people want and need. Become passionate about what you're
doing. Use your company's products yourself so you will become passionate
and enthusiastic about what you're sharing with others and know WHY this
is all important to you. Other people will see you walking your talk and
may just be interested in hearing more about what you're doing.
Be patient and stick with your goals. Stay teachable, find a supportive,
caring sponsor and experienced team to work with you, not do it all for
you. Stayed focused and constantly involved in your support network.
Become active on company and team conference calls to stay plugged
in to the MLM grapevine.
Constantly strive to be a leader. Hang out with successful people,
watch them, do what they do, read what they read, go where they go.
Just DO IT!
Success Key - You're in Network Marketing. Now make sure
that Network Marketing is IN you!
Read everything you can about your company, products, the MLM
profession and keep developing yourself professionally. Network
consistently with your business partners and other colleagues in the
industry and with people in general that you connect with. Don't
forget to stay open to listening what others are saying.
Attend every company function you possibly can and attend
leadership training seminars. Read books on leadership and
business. Robert Kiyosaki has always been one of my favorites.
Over the years I've learned and picked up tips from -
Women's tapes from Upline, Dani Johnson, Susan Sly, Todd
Falcone, Rod Nichols, Kim Klaver, Doug Firebaugh, Bob Burg,
Jim Rohn, John C. Maxwell, Mark Gorman, Big Al Tom Schrieter,
Art Jonak, Korey Johnson, Daren Falter, Robby Fender, Corey Citron
and many others.
Hook up with positive like minded people who also have the desire
to succeed. Join organizations like the DSWA Direct Selling
Women's Alliance http://www.dswa.com/, The Heartlink Network
http://www.theheartlinknetwork.com/, The Association For
Network Marketing Professionals http://www.theanmp.org/sueseward,
and other networking groups online and offline such as your
local Chamber of Commerce and BNI.Plug in with industry and
entrepreneurial publications such as Networking Times
magazine, Success magazine, Home Business magazine,
TheNetworkMarketingMagazine.com and other MLM and
professional publications.
Look for successful business minded people in your community.
Learn all you can from them and bring them into your business. If
what you're doing is not for them then ask for referrals. This is what I've
done over the years. I've associated myself with very successful positive
people and stuck with them like glue soaking up everything like a sponge.
I am a stay at home mom working closely with people who are self-made
millionaires teaching what they know. All you have to do is plug yourself
in and never give up.
Why would you want to do this business alone when there are so many
people to reach out to?
Remember to always think of the other person first, and ask them questions.
Take a genuine interest in other people and offer to help them without asking
or expecting something in return. Building relationships is a 'key to success' in
this business whether you're online or offline.
When you are open to being a 'go giver' rather than a taker people will
gravitate towards you!
There are a few things that are absolutely crucial to seeing success
in your MLM home business-
Success Key - Be consistent on a daily basis with your networking -
Do something every single day for your business. No excuses!
Even if all you have is ONE hour a day do something for your business.
Do NOT go one day without doing something because I can almost
bet you the farm that if you go one day it will turn into two, then
three, then four then a week, a month goes by and you have not
done anything to move your business forward. You'll become
discouraged, frustrated, and guess what happens? Most likely that
is when most people give up.
Even if all you have the time for that day is to answer one
email, call one person, taking your products, listening to
a conference call. Do whatever you can to make that
commitment to do something every day for your business.
This will help you to network your way to success.
Success Key- Do these three things every day -
Stay plugged into your network -
Follow up in a timely manner-
Never give up -
How successful you are depends on how many people you
connect and follow up with the ones who are interested in
your business and/or products. In case you find yourself in
a place where you are not able to follow up in a timely manner
ask one of your business partners to follow up with your
contact, because not following up might stagnate your
business.
What about all that rejection - Did you know that hearing 'no'
can be a good thing?
You're going to have rejection so just be prepared for it to
happen. Hearing a lot of no's is a part of the growth process.
Hearing no is really a good thing...that means you're contacting
people. The ones that can handle the most rejection will have
more YES.
This is where most people give up and go home. Because they hear
all these objections which sometimes are felt as rejection. I've seen
it so many times and have been guilty of not following up when first
starting out and even now at times in the business. We are all human
no matter how successful we become rejection is not as much fun
is it? But did you know that it can actually be fun hearing no?
In the beginning I was so afraid of the rejection. Now I welcome
those no's. Hearing no is nothing personal. In fact, the more no's
you hear the closer you are to a big fat YES! So hang tough! Never
Give Up, a BIG Yes is on it's the way to you!
Objections may really just be questions. When someone says I
don't have time for this, what they really might be asking you is how
can you help me find more time to do this? When someone says I
don't have the money, what they really might be asking is can this
really work for me to make some extra money? And then sometimes
people just are not interested at the time. That's when it's always
best to put them in your keep in touch system.
Can you imagine being a 22 year old and discovering Network
Marketing as your niche, finding the right mentor, and giving
it 30 months of consistent efforts with the right company, product,
timing and experienced mentors? These young people can be set for
life so get out there and network with them.
Could you also imagine leaving a million dollars in cash sitting on
the table and getting up and walking away? That's what you're
doing when you quit your MLM home business so you don't ever
give up!
It does not matter how young or old you are it's never too late to
benefit from starting an MLM home business. Besides it's something
you can leave behind for your kids!

believe that." Dan OBrien
