This is a video in Arabic about the bidoon issue in Kuwait. In case you don't know what that is: basically, its the plight of the stateless people in Kuwait. The reasons that they are stateless are many. It could be for several reasons, including that many years ago when Kuwait was becoming a real independant country those people didn't go and sign up for their nationality at that time. It could also be from people who came from various places like Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and other places who stayed in Kuwait for so many years that they lost their own nationalities due to various reasons. Also, there are people who came later who simply want to get Kuwaiti nationality and destroy their original passports and pretend to have stayed in Kuwait for decades but really haven't. The plight of the bidoons is real, and the Kuwait government is acting to solve the problem, albeit slowly, so we hope that this problem will be solved very soon, in order to help them. The problem for many of them is that they can't even get jobs, because they aren't allowed to have civil ID cards, many aren't allowed driver's licenses, they can't have marriage contracts like others, can't have legal babies, and can't travel freely due to their lack of documentation. We hope that this problem will be solved very soon for once and for all.
